Orange Mango Smoothie (Dairy Free)

Orange Mango Smoothie recipe | This smoothie is sunshine in a glass! It's dairy free and tastes like a homemade Orange Julius! It's a day brightener that's packed full of vitamin c.

This orange mango smoothie tastes like a homemade Orange Julius, but it’s dairy free! It’s pretty much sunshine in a glass. I even snuck a vegetable in!

Mango is such a delicious ingredient for smoothies. It’s not as sweet as pineapple, but the addition of some orange and carrot juice makes this orange mango smoothie taste like a dreamsicle.

All you need to make this is coconut milk, frozen mango, frozen banana, an orange and carrot juice. My blender (a Ninja Mega) isn’t powerful enough to blend carrots, but you could if your blender is more awesome than mine (my dream blender is the Vitamix!). You could also make homemade carrot juice with a juicer, but I bought mine at Trader Joe’s. Just be sure if you buy it that it doesn’t have any added sugar or other unnecessary ingredients. Cold-pressed is the way to go, and always organic, if possible.

Although I typically have a green smoothie in the morning to get in a serving of green vegetables right away, this is a welcome change every once in a while. It’s quite a delicious day brightener and it’s packed full of vitamin C.

This is sunshine in a glass. Get ready for a day brightener that's packed full of vitamin C.
Recipe type: Smoothie
Serves: 2
  • ½ c. coconut milk (not canned)
  • ¾ c. carrot juice
  • 1 orange
  • 1 c. frozen mango
  • 2 frozen bananas
  • ½ tsp. turmeric (optional)
  1. Juice the orange (or if you don't mind pulp, simply throw the entire peeled orange into your blender).
  2. Place all ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth. Add additional ingredients as necessary, to taste.

My orange mango smoothie makes a delicious mid-morning snack or it would be a lovely accompaniment to brunch. Or you could even make it with full-fat canned coconut milk, throw it into an ice cream maker and eat it as a sorbet. Ooh! I’m going to try that next. Basically you should find any excuse you can to make it!

**For those tragically allergic to mango (like my brother) you can still have the deliciousness of an orange smoothie … just replace the mango with pineapple instead! I know it would be just as delicious.
