Food gifts are my absolute favorite. They are practical, thoughtful and in my experience have always been delicious! Bonus points if you have time during the holidays to spend extra hours in the kitchen making up a big batch of your favorite something (cookies, caramels, fudge, apple butter, sweet and salty chex mix, etc.) to wrap beautifully for friends and family, but a lot of people just don’t have that kind of time.
Your loved ones with food allergies and dietary restrictions will be overjoyed to receive a gift basket or stocking full of treats and snacks they can enjoy during this season. The holidays are often a very tough time for people like us, as we watch all of our friends and family devour tasty pies, candies, and cookies! But we don’t have to be left out. One year my brother- and sister-in-law gave me a basket filled with gluten-free baking items and I was ecstatic that they had gifted so thoughtfully!
BEHOLD! My list of stocking stuffers for food lovers. These are some of my favorite brands of gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian products to stick in the stockings of your loved ones. I kid you not, the snacks and treats that show up in a stocking are by far the best in my eyes!
Holiday Gift Ideas for Foodies with Dietary Restrictions
Buddy’s Nut Butters. Oh man is this stuff good. I didn’t even like peanut butter that much until I tried this local brand. I swear to you the cinnamon raisin flavor spooned directly into your mouth is so reminiscent of cookie dough, it’s insane. Proceed with caution. After tasting Buddy’s, you may never be able to buy your regular old peanut butter again! My favorite ways to eat it are on apple slices with shredded coconut, in banana bread blondies or peanut butter protein balls.
The GFB (Gluten Free Bites). I discovered these tasty little bites only recently and they are a wonderful pick-me-up snack in the morning or afternoon. They’re packed with protein and, you guessed it, they’re grain-free and vegan! The bites are chewy and just a little bit sweet. Just enough to curb a craving for candy with a healthy alternative!
Ginny Bakes. More gluten-free and vegan cookies and bars! There’s even some baking mixes so you can easily make treats without spending hours in the kitchen working with gluten-free flours and dairy alternatives.
Go Raw. There’s a lot to be said about eating a raw vegan diet. It’s so nourishing to the body and it’s important to eat a good mix of raw and cooked fruits, veggies, juices and smoothies. This brand offers a bunch of tasty raw snacks, from sprouted watermelon seeds to crunchy flax-based snacks that taste like pizza. BUT THE RAW CHOCOLATE. It’s so rich and amazing that you honestly only need half of a bite-sized bar to be satisfied! If you want to learn more about a raw diet, FullyRaw Kristina is an incredible resource.
WB Kitchen Ona Bars I’ve already confessed my love of these bars and cookies. They’re made with whole, organic ingredients and are paleo friendly. Every single product is delicious, so you just can’t go wrong!
Whole Me. Another delicious local brand that I can’t get enough of! The brand carries grain- and dairy-free granolas (no oats here!) as well as energy bars for snacking in between holiday shopping trips! The granola is delightful for breakfast or a snack with cashew or almond milk. I can’t even choose a favorite flavor because they’re all soooo good!
